History of Dolan & Murphy: Trust and Commitment

In 1965, Daniel D. Dolan and James O. Murphy combined their talents as Commercial and Industrial Real Estate brokers and formed Dolan & Murphy Inc., creating the first real estate firm in the Fox River Valley exclusively specializing in commercial, industrial, and investment properties.

After Murphy’s passing, Dolan continued the business and brought in his sons Brian, Dan T., and Ryan Dolan. Within the past decade, the Dolans brought in the third generation of Dolan brokers to the firm, including Dan J. and J.D. Dolan.

Since its founding in 1965, Dolan & Murphy, Inc. has been driven by a simple yet powerful philosophy: providing exceptional service to clients and maintaining a strong focus on relationships.

• Farnsworth International Business Park at I-88 and Farnsworth Ave in Aurora. Home of Chicago Premium Outlets and one of the largest Industrial Park in Aurora.

• 100 N Broadway, Aurora, currently being developed into The Residences at Eastbank Apartments. The new development will consist of five floors, 258 apartments, 310 parking spaces in a parking garage, private balconies, a swimming pool, and a dog park.

• Butterfield Development, Aurora – 1600 Acre Business Park at I-88 and Eola Road. First assembled in 1983 by Dolan & Murphy, with the final site sold in 2024, a 40+ year Venture.

• Oakhurst, Aurora - 6,000 Acre Development, developed by Crown Community Developments. Dolan & Murphy handled the resale of the commercial sites within this development.

• Kendall Point, Oswego, 188 Acre Industrial Park

• Montgomery Business Center, Montgomery, 140 Acre Business/Industrial Park

Philanthropic Endeavors

The early leadership also felt it was important to give back to the Community you work in and serve, evidenced by decades of involvement in Aurora Sports, supporting Aurora Grade Schools and High Schools. Also, Dolan & Murphy has been incredibly supportive of organizations such as Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry, Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry, Kane County CASA, and the Waubonsee Community College Foundation Board.

The Dolan Family has been involved in Aurora Boys Baseball since its inception as well as Aurora Fastpitch Softball, with Daniel D. Dolan being inducted into the ISC, International Softball Congress Hall of Fame in 2016, with The Dolan & Murphy Shamrocks being the longest consecutive Sponsor of a team in ISC History. This highlighted Community involvement, are to name just a few.
